Every year I make the Cooks' Illustrated version of from-scratch crescent rolls. It's not a horribly terribly difficult recipe, but it is a bit labor intensive. The dough is too sticky to knead, and I don't have a stand mixer right now.
Well, this year I lost the recipe (which means I lost the original November 2001 issue of the magazine and the two copies I made and put in protective sleeves because I always loose this recipe) so I Googled around and discovered that CI is very protective of their intellectual property! They have a beefy web presence so I do not doubt that they have an equally beefy intern in a closet somewhere that makes sure no one publishes anything of theirs to non-subscribers
