I've been poking at this since before Christmas but first the sex wouldn't flow and then I couldn't figure out how to end it. *rolls eyes*

The idea for a tattoo fic had been floating around in my head for a while, but your drabble acted as a catalyst, crystalizing the vague fuzzies into actual substance. I could see the tat so clearly!

The sex... took a while longer and only really started flowing late last night when I was just about to go to bed. (Ain't that always the way? *g*)

I love the idea of Slade 'mentoring' Dick, so something along those lines will, no doubt, turn up eventually, but there's definitely more Bat/Wally on the way, it's just a matter of deciding which one to attack first. :P

(Oh, god! I have resisted the lure of figures for so long, but I fear DC will see an end to that. I want a Bat and a Wally, and a Nightwing and a Deathstroke! *flails*)

*whimper* You always get these two so right. LOVED the sex, the way Slade kept him off-balance. I could really visualise that.

Instead, he drags a hand through his hair and starts to peel away his suit, piece by piece, tossing them lightly onto the chair beside his chest of drawers. It's dark, he's tired, and Slade... Slade's been lurking in the shadows of his life almost forever, he sometimes thinks.

Again, very big with the visuals and also that was the point my mouth went all dry and the whimpering began.

I think Slade has very sneakily got Dick subliminally programmed to strip when he finds Slade in his bedroom. Hee!

I nearly went a much darker route with this, having Slade make a phonecall after the sex, once Dick was asleep, to tell an unknown third party that their combination of spellwork and tattoo worked perfectly and had Dick believing it was all his own choice. (And then Slade would have hung up and made a mental note to kill the unknown third party to prevent the truth getting out.)

I like how your mind works, well almost works, since you didn't choose to go with that ending. I could see him doing just that, but I like this ending better. Are you planning a sequel? Please?

It would have been very easy to go down the darker route, because I can so clearly imagine Slade doing whatever's necessary to make Dick his. But - I dearly love the idea that this is Dick's choice, even if it's his subconscious that's led him into getting the tattoo, convincing him it won't really change things. ^^^pets him^^^

There will probably be a sequel. I can't help wondering about Bruce's reaction, and Dick's inevitable attempt at rebellion and a dash for freedom. *g*
