"I want you to watch out for Sammy, okay?"
"Yeah, Dad, you know I will. You're scaring me."
"Don't be scared, Dean." John leaned closer to whisper directly into his eldest son's ear. "The Demon's been watching you and Sammy for a while now; he told me all about it. I think he thought I’d try and go back on the deal we just made - my life for yours - but that's not what's gonna happen. You get to live, to take care of Sammy, and keep him happy. He's the only weapon we've got left. Without him on our side, the whole world's screwed."

Once the shock wore off, Dean took to 'keeping Sammy happy' as though it was his raison d'être.
Sam asked him once, about a month after the first, frantic, fumbling, post-funereal kiss, if he had found a list of kinks somewhere, and was trying to cross them all off, one by one.
Dean didn't deny it, just grinned and reeled him in for yet another round of wholesome family fun.

They always kept candles in the car - pale, tall pillars of wax as far round as their wrists. They'd pick them up at yard sales on the way, or in New Age shops, and sometimes from a church, slipped into pockets and down the back of their jeans when they didn't have the cash to spare.
Sam had always seen them mainly as a tool of the trade, just another unusual item on the shopping list. Until now.
At first, he'd thought the candles on the bedside table were just one of Dean's occasional attempts at being romantic. He did weird stuff like that every so often but always got flustered and defensive if Sam mentioned it.
But apparently this was less about romance and more about checking off another of the kinks on the list that Sam was sure was hiding somewhere in the bottom of Dean's bag - he just hadn't found it yet.

Dean straddled Sam on the bed, strong bare thighs bracketing Sam's naked hips, weight supported on his knees so Sam could move fairly freely if he wanted to. But then-
"Lie still, Sammy."
Dean-"
"Lie still or I'll stop."
He would too, the evil-minded bastard - Sam knew that from experience. At least this time he wasn't tied down, spread wide and slicked open, but… Sam lay still.
At least he did until the first drip of molten wax landed, unexpected, towards the top of his spine, scalding a patch of skin between his shoulder blades.
Sam hissed and jerked in reflex even as Dean dropped his weight onto Sam's thighs and pinned his neck, with one large hand, against the mattress.
"Lie still or I'll stop."
Evil, evil bastard.
Dean didn't move his hand from Sam's nape until Sam had given a tiny acquiescent nod and stopped trying to squirm. Sam wrapped his arms even tighter around the pillow beneath his head and waited for Dean's next move.
A trail of fiery little droplets of not-quite-agony skipped their way from vertebrae to vertebrae, only pausing at the base of his spine, where flesh and bone formed a sweet hollow. Into that natural bowl, Dean poured a steady stream of wax and watched it trickle across pale, perfect skin to fill the shallow pool. Before it even had a chance to cool, he bent and licked a cool wet stripe across the heated skin.
Tiny tremors rippled out along the length of Sam.
"Dean, please-"
Dean pleased.
