OMG Neverending Story is sooooo good. Seriously. It's part of my childhood, book and movie, and it has held up all the way into college. You will not regret buying it. Nor Game of Thrones, I think.

I remember adoring the Neverending Story movies as a kid, but I actually can't remember anything about any of them anymore other than there were at least three of them and I was deranged about them for a good long while. Didn't know there was a book first until January 09-ish, because I'm seriously out of touch with things like this. And slow.

Glad to hear both it and A Game of Thrones, which the only friend I have who reads non-paranormal romances hated, comes recommended.
