Blame Xena for everything.

And here we are at another drama season! How did that happen?

Poll Roly poly

I'm amused to see that all the crossdressing heroines from last season have grown up. This time it's all about middle-aged women and the variety of ways they become BAMFs:

-A housewife as a mysterious problem-solver
-A housewife who is secretly a spy-A housewife becoming a detective ( Read more... )

it's like i don't even want sleep, drama poll, what did we do with our lives before tv

I just don't feel like watching any of those at the moment, though I'll probably pick up one or two once I see more comments on them. I am, however planning on checking out the Korean Vampire Prosecutor, because just the name sounds like total crack. And it's a cable drama, too, so can show more stuff than your usually daily romcom.

Still, I approve of the theme of this season. :D

Korean Vampire Prosecutor? Okay, I have to add that to my list too. Wow.

Korean drama Vampire Prosecutor. Still, my point stands, it sounds like total crack. :) Two eps have aired and Darksmurf has subs at least for the first one.

Unrelated, I just finished watching the two SP movies, and the amount of eye-fucking and tension, and... Why aren't people scrambling to write Ogawa/Inoue???? Whyyyyyy?

Yeah, still. VAMPIRE PROSECUTOR. It's a title that cannot possibly lead you to anything but terrible awesomeness.

I haven't actually seen the SP movies yet. They were amazing? *__*

Or at least I'll attempt to watch those, and possibly some others except that I can't remember which others I thought looked appealing. I'm pretty tired of crime dramas, which is a problem since Japan clearly still loves them a lot.

And housewives. Seriously, what's with all the housewives? I know jdramas tend to do everything by trends, but this much seems a bit excessive. XD

Oooh, the uncle drama? Wait, let me guess, the sex isn't between him and his niece. XD What's the tone of that one anyway? Does she just have a crush like "oh I'm in love with my uncle and it's so wacky" or is it more like VC Andrews melodrama and craziness?

I can't say I'll be watching the Kame drama. Not unless people tell me it's really awesome. XD

Which on is "A housewife who is secretly a spy"? I suppose I *could* click on all the links you handily provided, but, hey. Lazy.

I haven't watched Hunter ~whatever the rest of the title is~ yet, but I plan to. I was worried that the "certain circumstances" that led to to becoming a bounty hunter involved rape or dead children. Tumblr assures me that this is not the case.

(Your subject line reminded me of this: did you see the git set on Tumblr of Xena shooting a dagger from her cleavage? Those breasts are life savers.)

Himitsu Chouhouin Erika! Did I mention the lady in question is Kuriyama Chiaki? *_________*

I'm looking forward to Hunter a lot, so I'm glad to know it isn't skeevy. Now if I can just find the motivation to begin this season...

Xena shooting a dagger from her cleavage

NEVER SEEN IT, BUT I THINK I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE.

Hello there, gorgeous. I don't think I've seen any of her dramas before. I must correct that! (Oh, Kill Bill. Go Go?)

There are a lot of series that I intend to watch, but I'm *so slow* at actually getting to them. I've still only watched the first few episodes of Ouran and Ikemen desu ne. And I'm stalled on Scent of a Woman, even though it's actually pretty good, and I've been promised that it won't stomp all over my heart.

Damn it. When I got into drama fandom, I thought short seasons were a blessing. Now, I'm not so sure.

Xena's deadly boobs: http://ericaceae.tumblr.com/post/11480320528/death-mask-season-1. Don't ask me how long I stared at that gif. Just, don't.

ETA: Holy typos, Batman. I don't know what's wrong with me. I can't write a single comment lately without random typos. I bet there's a typo in this ETA that I'll only notice days later. Sorry.

Oh, she's been in some great stuff. Battle Royale - I read somewhere that her character there was Quentin Tarantino's inspiration for Gogo. And she was part of an excellent ensemble cast in Ashita no Kita Yoshio. Both are totally worth your time.

And I'm stalled on Scent of a Woman, even though it's actually pretty good, and I've been promised that it won't stomp all over my heart.

...The terminal tango one? Does it have a happy ending?

Don't worry about typos, I've so been there. Actually, my big problem is missing entire words. I don't know how my brain just skips over typing them, but there you go.

I was only planning to watch Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de and Nankyoku Tairiku but I ended up uploading HUNTER, Kaseifu no Mita and Himitsu no Chouhouin Erika at jdramas. I'll try the Kudokan drama too.

Oh damn, I'm already behind! *zooms to jdramas*

So have you watched all three? Is Kaseifu no Mita any good? I've already gotten opinions on the others, but everyone seems weirdly quiet about that one.

Have you seen Nanny McPhee? Kaseifu no Mita is a more grim version of that but basically has the same premise. It's also not just a drama series, it has a mystery storyline too which is interesting. In my opinion, it's worth a try.

Interesting! I think I will, then. Give it a try. Thanks for the heads-up. :D
