I was wondering what happened to you! If you are on ep 44, that means you got to Qin Emperor croaking - wasn't that such an amazing amazing scene? I was scared of Yu Shu there.

Also, the whole thing with his tomb was brutal, from having all those workers killed (and XC couldn't save them!) to sending his formerly beloved concubine away to slave there (I loved how he just assumed despite his mistreating her and killing her mother, she would looooove to come back to him and love him forever).

I think XC just has chronic ptsd now - all the stuff after the wars, ouch.

Also, Zhao Gao needs to DIAF - the thing that drives me insane about him is he is so petty - he does all these little niggly evil things, in addition to grand gesture bad plans (like breaking YS's lute) that - argh.

And yay, you liked secondary OTP. Until their inevitable grisly demise.

OH MY GOD YES. I even liked Zhao Gao for a minute there, because if there's a single character I hate more than him it's the emperor, and seeing him crawl across the floor pitiful and outnumbered was a vicious moment I thoroughly enjoyed.

(So sad about Fusu -- I knew it was coming but I still wibbled, if only because what it meant for the empire.)

You know what scene really, really got me, so much that I had to pause just to regroup? When he was wandering the empty training grounds and he saw Ninja Woman's tattered sash still hanging. And then he went to Meng Tian's alter and sorta railed against him for putting all this responsibility on his shoulders. It was so fucking upsettingThe tomb thing -- I honestly expected him to save them. I mean, I was waiting for it, I kept waiting for him to turn around and invent some excuse to stay, and then he couldn't. Jesus

At least Zhao Gao with all his evilness had a reason for why he turned evil (castration plus abuse). Qin Emp had no reason at all and yet was supremely evil anyway. Not to mention ZG at least is capable of caring for Xiao Yue but Qin Emperor cares for no one.

What astounded me (except not really, considering history) is how IDIOTIC the emperor was. Zhao Gao is lauded as a genius manipulator and mastermind except I think a well-trained monkey could've run circles around that dumbass. And it looks like his son got his brains! I don't know about you, but horses totally take after deer where I'm from.

I saw that on wiki, Fusu's suicide too, else I would've been angry about it. Death before dishonor blah blah blah but talk about leaving your subjects in the lurch.

You know what really broke me? That XC, who wouldn't kill at all, and then when he did tried to minimize the damage, is now cutting a bloody swath through the Qin Empire's army because conquering it is the best way to get to Yu Shu.

OH GOD I KNOW. And STILL FIGHTING WITH MORTAL WOUNDS because he promised her he'd come back alive!!!

They were cuteness personified. They met when she was wearing his uniform! And then she'd walk through the soldiers' training grounds and he'd loooook at her but quickly look away when she glanced over and she would staaaaare and then cut her eyes to the side when he caught her looking.
