Bossanova ...
Saturday, Day Six
Diego Bossanova is settling in well into his new home which he's renting from his buddy Connor Firestone. Diego has a love for kitschy mid-century design, something sister Selena would never allow in their old condo together.
Upstairs Diego totally gutted the two bedrooms to make room for...
His very own dance studio! After he can prove he's the Master of Dance (i.e. max out his Dance enthusiasm) he plans to open his own dance studio in the Business District.
Diego wastes no time practicing his ballet moves.
Through the magic of dance Diego works out his aggression. He's madly in love with artist Matisse Troubadour, mother of his child, but he can't shake the feelings he has for doctor Minka Yomoshoto. Now he's heard that she's shacking up with some science nerd. If only he had some time alone with Minka he could show her what she really needs.
Diego currently has a job as a journalist for Oceanside Today. But he's not very good at it. He can't be bothered with all of the gossip that goes for news in this town. He mostly writes articles on dancing which the residents of Oceanside are really sick of reading.
At least it pays the bills.
Minka shows up on Diego's doorstep while he showers. Even though she's found a new mate she can't help wondering "what if" about Diego. Matisse is one of her best friends but she can't help the way she feels about about him...
It's back to the barre for Diego. He can't wait to quit his job and work solely on dance!
Sunday, Day Seven
Diego doesn't have to work until 1pm so he has time to kill in the morning.
Connor stops by to see how Diego's doing living on his own. However Frankie Cloak, newsie, walks by and catches Diego's eye.
It must be too early for the teen because she yawns half-way through their conversation. That's OK. Diego will keep her in mind when she transitions next year.
Diego heads inside to make breakfast for himself and Connor. Connor's his best friend and he can definitely shed some light on his whole Matisse or Minka dilemma.
Connor: So you're all set up in the house. It looks good man! Did you hear Minka had some guy from the other side of the island move into her house? She barely knows him!
Diego then confides in Connor that he's in love with Minka and hearing the news that she's with some other guy nearly broke his heart.
Connor: Man, be careful. Minka Yomoshoto doesn't seem to care about any of the guys she's with. She totally broke Kendrick's heart getting pregnant by Watcher-knows-who. Now he's the bad guy? You already have a good woman. Don't fuck things up just because you want to woohoo three sims!
As always Diego listens to Connor's advice. He's right. Minka isn't worth the heartbreak she seems to bring.
Diego has a little bit of time before he has to go to work, so he and Connor warm-up at the barre. Connor is getting really good at ballet!
Connor keeps working out while Diego scours for news.
With it being Sunday night, Diego wants to invite his friends and family over for Family Dinner. Really he wants to show Minka that he's fine without her. And prove to himself that he and Matisse should really be together.
Diego isn't really a gourmet chef but everyone likes hot dogs so that's what he serves.
Sadie Biltmore is the first one to test out the old stereo. Diego cannot wait to open a dance studio so he can teach sims like her how to dance! Poor Sadie has no rhythm.
Connor is so tired from practicing all day that he passes out in his hot dog! Diego's worried about him and tries to get him to go lay down on his bed.
Kendrick Troubadour and Brodie Mason are, of course, the first ones in the hot tub. You can't invite these two anywhere without them christening your jacuzzi!
To Diego's surprise the ladies are actually getting along. He knows his sister and her friends hate Sadie Biltmore but Diego thinks she a hoot, and she's pretty hot. When he's around Matisse though, she's the only girl on his mind.
Diego's favorite song starts playing and he asks Matisse to dance.
Matisse: Thank the Watcher you asked me when you did. Sadie started talking about the weird stuff Fitz likes to do in the bedroom. It's making Minka uncomfortable!
That brought Diego's thoughts back to Minka. It seemed like almost all of his thoughts were of Minka. He needs to squash this and fast, but how?
Can he help it that he's a Romance sim and girls find him super-attractive? No. Can he help it that he finds all of these other girls attractive? Maybe. He knows there isn't any sim else that Matisse wants, but can he help that? She has her own issues, you know. He decides right then and there that he's just not ready for a committed relationship. Maybe he and Matisse should cool off for a bit.
Monday, Day Eight
Diego decides that if he's ever going to get Minka out of his system he has to have some one-on-one time with her. Diego calls Minka and asks her out.
To his utter surprise, she says Yes!
While hugging Minka Diego notices something different about her belly. Is it possible she's pregnant again? From that weird guy that nobody knows?
He also wonders if Minka feels the same way about him as he does for her. Maybe Connor is right and she just likes to play with sim's heads, but Diego doesn't think so.
It all happened so fast. One minute they were standing around talking about the weather, the next she was suggesting they relax on the bed. In their chonies.
There was no turning back now...
Minka's a wonderful girl and a great friend, but she isn't the one. Maybe Diego was just fooling himself. He wasn't really looking for love, he just likes the chase. After landing Minka Yomoshoto he still feels the need to woohoo even more girls.
Minka wasn't very satisfied as well.
Minka will always be a great friend to Diego and whenever she wants to hook up again Diego will be willing. Let's just hope Matisse never finds out.
After putting in so much time at the barre, Diego reaches maximum fit! Now he has an even more impressive bod for the ladies.
In Diego's mind today was one of the greatest days ever. He finally got what he wanted. Nothing could ruin it.
Nothing.
Tuesday, Day Nine
Diego wakes up whistling a happy tune! He's so close to mastering his dance moves he decides to blow off work and dance all day long!
Back to the barre!
Around mid-day Diego starts feeling guilty for what happened with Minka. He calls Matisse to check on her and to make sure she hasn't heard any gossip about their date.
Unfortunately she didn't answer her phone.
After a hearty lunch...
It's practice time again.
He did it! After all of that hard work Diego is now a full-fledged dancing machine. Diego immediately quits his job at the newspaper and starts the Dance career.
He proudly displays the plaque from Edwina Goddard in his studio!
Notes: Minka, Minka, Minka. I don't know what I'm going to do with that girl!
According to my rules Diego cannot open the dance studio on the main island, he has to wait for the Business District to be unlocked. But we'll see how long I last before I say "I HAVE TO BUILD A STUDIO, LIKE TODAY!"
Thank you for reading!!
