Popular shouldn't always take the front seat to taste or storytelling. Having said that, I love gossipy rants more than I should. I agree wholeheartedly with 8, 10 (some misguided "sex is either bad or boring" motif fostered those relationships) and 14 (Cordy, in all her sweet bitchiness, and Darla, in her full on psychopath were "grown-ups" whereas Buffy was not; hell, even Dru was more interesting that Buffy ---- way, way more interesting).

WORD that every season is a masterpiece, and Angel's relationships with Cordy and Darla being more interesting than the one with Buffy. I think B/A were the kind of high school romance that an unrealistic teenager thinks will last forever, but in the end both partners get a life on their own and end up with someone better for them.

Though I love Andrew and The Girl In Question is the guiltiest pleasure of all (gay subtext much?:)

Thanks for your opinions, nice to know I'm not alone in thinking certain things.

I don't think Buffy's been put in a relationship that's done her any emotional maturity as well.
