I've just had the misfortune to witness Catherine Jenkins on the Royal Variety Performance. Apart from the fact that she couldn't have chosen a song that suited her less, she was, as usual, pitchy as hell. Vibrato does not excuse you from being unable to maintain pitch past a minims worth

Some of your comment is untrue & most of it, uncalled for. I would never expect you to apologise for your dislike of a particular singer but defining any woman by her looks, (silly blonde) is IMHV sexist & unworthy of a Goddess woman.

I didn't see the RVP (I have better things to do) but I can assure you Katherine Jenkins most assuredly is a classically trained singer. She is highly regarded in Wales not only for her singing, but for her charity work & her total lack of arrogance.

If she was as terrible as you claim ~ well, everyone is allowed an off day. And is was, after all, the RVP ~ an uncommonly 'shit' programme.

Observant & sexist are two different things.

It is, I'm sorry, but it really is, overtly sexist to judge our sisters by their appearence. Criticise KJ's singing by all means, that is your right, but leave the sexism to the men?

It is sexist to judge our sisters by appearance, but as a performer she has an image that is designed to be perceived a particular way, it's marketing. She is a performer and as such a product of the record company who pay her. She has a stylist who is overlifting her beautiful tresses. I didn't mean silly blonde as in 'silly blond' I meant 6 shades too bright for her creamy skin. They should stop trying to turn her into a bloody pop star and let her get on with what she's good at :)
