With Cambridge Treasure Trap there has been a lot of debate about the DT system, leading to a big change this year that seems to be working well ( ... )

I won't wax lyrical on how it should be run but simply put my views on downtime is that it should exist but only to support uptime roleplay

I think there's a difference between Advancement and Action. They do, and achieve, different things ( ... )

I would like Action -> advancement: I always remember Dave J complaining (quite fairly) that he was always stuck in battles so never got better with a sword (so silly!)
And I take (and agree with) your point on Sorcerous lore.

TT is quite a bit better that it was, thing no longer fall apart and downtime no longer seems to be a must.

The limits on downtime action in TT these days seems to be if what you want to do is on the level of an adventure, ask for an adventure slot. There has been several times when the action was more important than just sending it in, but not quite an adventures worth, at which point they'll take the people involved and resolve it before or at the begiing of the interactive. How that translates to something run less often I'm not sure.

Certainly having a mechanism for finding things out and setting things up so you can actually do the fighting and adventure in your limited uptime is important, or there may be a danger of things not happening.
