RIP Guido

So... I don't often post about the events I go to. This is for various reasons, none of which are immediately relevant. However, it didn't feel right to not jot down a few thoughts about the recent Maelstrom. I couldn't have Guido's epitaph be complete silence.

Guido was awesome - and it was a pleasure to encounter him (and wear his fine headwear)

I also completely empathise about not being able to return to the same circles that once you occupied even if approached from another angle. Certainly not right away, and perhaps not even later on.

I'd recommend some of the many experiences the game offers away from Flambard (as there is much more to the New World) - but I also understand the importance of OC friendship circles.

After I retired Jean, I found I had to spend quite a while actively avoiding Flambard, and the Lower City in particular. Too many secrets known, friendships where it is all too easy to fall into familiar patterns etc.

Forcing myself to go out and meet other people, I've found there is huge variety and depth out there which you don;t want to miss. The temptation to go back and play with the same friends is strong, but I heartily recommend trying something completely different.

Aye, getting involved in the Eidolon game after Antonio died was a good choice for me. I tromp around the field enough to still see folks back at the Lower City, but I'm seeing much more of the world.

Feel free to email me, man.
