It should be noted that Charles Addams was deeply intimate (in every sense of the word) with Jackie Kennedy between the assassination and Onassis. While neither of them took it seriously, it's said that they both parted amicably and stayed friends until his death.

Charles Addams was considered quite a catch in his day, and his datebook was filled with the names of numerous starlets and society pagers. It seems somewhat sad and strange to me that Charles Addams and Edward Gorey never met, despite both being New Yorker darlings and living within a small proximity of each other. Addams was extroverted to the extreme, whereas Gorey was notoriously secretive and very private, so that might have been the reason.

Thank you for this. It infuriates me how many people know the Addams family, but not the name of Chaz Addams.
