DD learns a lesson

Fact: Cats are carnivores
Fact: Wheat noodles are not made of meat.
Assumption: Leaving the pot of undercooked noodles on the stove until they could be disposed of properly ought to be fine.

Conclusion: There are half-eaten noodles all over the apartment.

slight but important distinction - cats are _obligate_ carnivores. That means they have to eat meat. (I know, some people try to make their cats vegetarians. historically, this hasn't worked out well for the cats without so many supplements that it's rather pointless.) That does not, however, mean they won't eat anything else that interests them. plants, pasta...I had a corn on the cob lover once, who was also obsessed with broccoli - it was a handy way to get her medicine into her, actually. Lillith is fascinated by fruit. :) I can't leave a bag with bread in it around, or Aidan will shred it to get to the contents.

Bee does the shredding thing with anything wrapped in plastic, from pads to packs of padded envelopes to ziplock bags with beading parts in them. But I figured he'd go after the bag of chips, not the pasta. He LOVES salty snacks, and there was no salt on the pasta at all...

Eeyore? *giggle* NICE. My baby's name is Bumblebee. After the Autobot, not the insect.

Did (s)he have a preference for anything in specific?

Nice! Eeyore got her name because she doesn't meow, she brays :P

And her only preference is "Mommy's eating it? Gimme!" She'll go after just about anything. I think the ONLY thing I have in the house that's safe is the apples. She ever goes after my dates and papaya spears ^_^;;

Heh; when you've had a cat who had a serious love affair with dried mango, you get used to it.

Mango? That's a new one. Bee's other addiction is salty chips and crackers. He even went so far as to break into a new box of knock-off Goldfish crackers and eat them while I was at work.

Yeah, though only dried; Yuki wasn't interested in fresh mango but dried? She'd steal bits from my hand, offered or not, and used to stick her whole head in the bag to get at the dried mango bits.

Salty things? Doesn't really surprise me either, though that's partly because I had a cat who used to chew shoes - we guessed for the salty of the sweat permeated into the lining, because while Roy destroyed one of my mother's best pairs of shoes, he also chewed my cheap foam sandals. Maybe low-sodium food isn't a great idea. *g*

*chuckle* Nice. Bee actually stole my bag of Pacific Sea Salt while I was at work, and devoured it. And yet he eats a regular-sodium corn-free food.

*giggle* good point. Bee likes to try and get to my cereal milk, but it's MINE. Otherwise... I'm still finding bits of pasta.
