The groaning doesn't stop when the tunnel swallows the train. It sounds like the city itself is slowly crumbling and dying...But at least not as loudly as it was when the train first fell through. If the tunnel is going to collapse, then at least it won't happen instantly

She gets up slowly, her hands slowly stopping their nervous shaking. It's all beginning to come back to her; Gekkoukan, Port Island, Iwatodai, the Kirijos, Tartarus, everything. What she can't figure out is how it's supposed to fit in with her life here. It just doesn't make any sense, though that fact doesn't make any of it less true.
For a moment, the woman in chains opens her eyes. That's right. Persona. Io.
"We should keep moving," Laura says, confused at this new clarity. "I...I don't want to be here when another section decides to drop into...into space." Well, would you look at that. "What?"

He's going to keep far away from that edge, though. "Yeah, I agree..." He's going to say Laura's name, but he blanks on it for long enough that he just lets it go. "Though I have no idea where the hell we are." Much less what's happening, or why there seems to be empty space underneath their feet. No going back now.
That's what prompts him to turn in what he thinks is the direction the train was heading, though it's impossible to get his bearings here. "This way's as good as any other, I guess. Let's just get out of here." His voice is strained despite trying to keep it calm.

"...Where's our-" 'Teacher' doesn't quite seem right anymore, after all that strangeness that happened in the train. "Where is Mister Grant?" No matter where she looks (except back down; one look was enough for her) Mary can't locate the man.
"I...Maybe he jumped off while we were busy? He couldn't have fallen down..." Her eyes dart back to where the hole is, and then back to the group.

Laura puts a hand in her pocket, feeling the letter. I love you too, father. "Let's go."
Without another word, Laura begins leading the way. Until Kirijo-senpai...no, Mary, remembers, it's up to me. Which suits her just fine. It would probably be a good idea to prod the other two's memories into motion--she can only piece together her past so much before she needs help--but she figures it'd be better to wait for somewhere that isn't a collapsing tunnel. Somewhere with light.
