I'm a vegetarian, too, and to be honest I agree with your friends. It's their life, let them eat what they want. If you don't want people lecturing you about how you should eat meat, then don't lecture them about how they shouldn't. It's not fair. Not everyone shares the same morals, and you shouldn't push yours onto others when they don't share the same values.

I'm sorry if I'm coming off as rude in any way, but it's just how I feel and it really bothers me when other vegetarians do that.
