Fred had been getting nervous. She didn't know if she should just go or not but they'd walked down so many dark hallways and it was hard to tell where in the building she was. In order to calm her nerves, she started to think about the exam she had the following day. It was about economic and social impact that Civil War had on the South once the war had ended ( ... )

When she pulled away, Ripper wasn't surprised. Standing behind her, he shook his head. Of course, her reaction didn't preclude the fact that she could be taught to accept the touches of others, even become receptive to them, and some of his clients even liked her sort, but they were the kind he didn't even like subjecting his more experienced girls to except for the fact that they paid quite well and were quite influential in allowing him to keep this place hidden ( ... )

When he said she was honest, Fred shrugged. She wasn't honest. Not by a long shot. She'd been lying to her parents for months and would probably continue to lie. They could never know what she was about to do. If they found out, it would kill them, and Fred didn't want that ( ... )

When her boss told her to come in, Fred quietly opened the door and smiled when she saw him. "Good evening, Sir," she said, stepping inside. She shut the door behind her and sat down in the chair he had indicated. Sitting her bag down, she looked up at him again. "I hope you don't mind but I brought some homework. I have a big essay exam on the Inca Civilization tomorrow and I don't want to fail it or it'll bring my average down. I thought I could do it on my breaks. If you give me breaks of course. If you don't I can study later ( ... )

The jeans and jumper that Fred was wearing that night certainly suited her better than rather whorish outfit Cassidy had dressed her up in the previous night. Of course, Cassidy was a whore, so he supposed he should have expected it. But some of Ripper's clients liked that, which was why he kept her on. Looking over at the clock, he wondered how she was getting along with Ethan. Since he hadn't scheduled any clients for her that night, they would have plenty of time together ( ... )

As her boss leaned over her, Fred slightly shuddered. Having men stand this close to her was something that rarely happened. He smelt so nice and she could feel the warmth coming off him. Squirming in her seat, she remembered what he said about not being nervous. She took a deep breath and nodded at his order ( ... )

Moving back behind his desk and slipping the work he had just finished into an envelope, Ripper watched as Fred picked up the phone and called the two clients. The girl was quite tenacious on top of everything else, actually staying on the phone until the second client had agreed to the schedule switch ( ... )

Fred was shaking when Ripper pulled her into his apartment. When he started to ask his questions, she wiped the tears away from her face and took a deep breath. "I-I overheard you tell someone your address my first night of night and I just remembered it. I'm always remembering that sort of stuff and I'm here because I have no where else to go," she said in a shaky voice ( ... )

Of course. Ripper had forgot that she had heard him that night. He should have remembered since he didn't give his address out to anyone unless absolutely necessary, but he had been rather...distracted.

Leading Fred into the lounge, he had her sit down on the couch, wanting to get something for her lip but not wanting to leave her for the moment. Instead, he crouched in front of her, listening as she told him what happened. Anger began welling up inside him when she explained what Cassidy had done and what she had been through.

"She said what?" he hissed. He clenched his fist into a ball, feeling it heat up for a moment but forcing himself to stay under control. As it was, he let out a low growl. "It's all right, Fred. I'll handle this ( ... )

Fred quietly sat on the couch as Ripper went to the phone and placed a phone call. She listened in, even though she didn’t want to, and she almost felt bad for Cassidy. But, there was a part of Fred who wanted to hurt Cassidy too and make her understand that she didn’t appreciate what she’d done to her ( ... )

When Fred asked if she could help, Ripper raised an eyebrow. He had been intending to keep her out of this, not wanting her to involve herself anymore until she had been cleared of the charges. He didn't want Cassidy to be able to point to her.

But at the same time, Cassidy had indeed hurt her. And when she threw out some ideas about what to do with her, he realized just how much darkness Fred had inside her. Was it because of him? Or had she always been like this?

"Some good ideas," he told her, absently rubbing his thumb across her cheek, "but we don't want to make Cassidy the victim in any way. You were violated, and she should pay for that. She won't if they think something was done to her against her will. The coppers are going to know that those drugs were hers. Perhaps we can make it look like she was double-crossed by whoever sold the stuff to her ( ... )
