Also I need to write more in the Korraverse.

SO.

Beyond the cut there will be three short character bios.  I do, of course, have more OCs than three, but the other two will probably be more suited to Book 2.

ANYWAY.

Granpapa was worried.

There was no danger -- the full moon lit the tundra as bright as day, they were both bundled against the cold -- but Granpapa was worried.

Finally he stopped, and Sialuk stopped just behind him. "I'd hoped the ability was a fluke," he said softly. "One of those things that just popped once in a generation. La knows your parents never showed an aptitude for it."

It wasn't like Granpapa to speak in riddles, either. Sialuk bit her bottom lip and waited to hear more.

"Your cousins have a devil of a time sneaking up on you," he continued.

Sialuk tried to smile. "I can hear them moving. Or feel them, sometimes."

He nodded like he'd expected her answer. "I was the same way when I was your age," Granpapa told her. He sighed. "You must promise me that you will keep what I teach you out here a secret."

If he didn't want Granmama or Granpa Hahn to know... "Why?" she demanded.

"Because bloodbending is illegal," he said. "But I would rather you learn it from me than work it out on your own

"A fucking curfew?"

"Keep it down!" Nanda hissed, looking around like she expected affronted cops to appear.

Junko snorted. "I will not. That is bullshit. It'd be like putting a curfew on all firebenders after that serial killer was going around, remember that?'

"No, and neither do you," Nanda told her. "We weren't here then."

"Well, I'm here now," Junko said, "And I'm not going to let a terrified gang of five try to control my life because they're scared of revolutionaries! Maybe they should consider why Amon and his Equalists exist."

"Oh, they considered it," said Nanda bitterly. "And most likely concluded that nonbenders are jealous of benders."

Junko stared at her friend. "Oh, for fuck's sake. Ice Dick is behind this, I know he is."
