I hate California. I have to pay an extra tax on fucking soda.

Newsflash, CA Gov't: I know it's bad for me. I don't give a fuckAlso, can the US please catch up with the European model and include sales tax -- and all other taxes -- in the price of the item so it isn't a nasty surprise at the cash register

It's because of the whole separation of different governments... some states have sales taxes, adn some states dont. I remember being in Delaware and having a shiiiiiit ton of pennies afterwards [ever paid just the 0.99 on everything? u get a lot of pennies!!]

That would first require sales tax to be universal across the country. It's 9.5% where I live, and if I drive five minutes down the street? 7.5%. So yeah.
