As talked about on IM, totally tie in the mishap with Firered to your new game on Emerald. :D You could always be magically whisked back to Firered later.

Reasoning for male and Tip: In the novel "The Land of Oz", Princess Ozma was magically transformed into a boy (Tip) to protect her from harm. Cue a gender crisis later when Tip finds out his true form, "But I don't WANT to be a girl!"
