Lana's Cottage: Saturday Night [12-29-07]

Once Phoebe and Anders left, Lana took some time to put everything away and heat up a little soup for dinner. She sat on her couch, looking at the pictures, especially the one of her and Jim and Maggie.

Then she took a deep breath and went to dig out the business card Jim had left her.

And placed a call that really rather scared her to make.

Damn, the phone. Jim dropped the wooden spoon back into the pot of spaghetti sauce and answered, brusque as usual. "Ellison."

Her mouth was suddenly so dry she almost couldn't speak. "Jim... " she said finally. "It's... it's Lana."

Silence for a moment as Jim tried to get his throat to work again. "L-Lana. Hi."

"Hey," she said quietly. "Um... thank you for leaving the picture of Maggie."
