The Bar-A Sea of Wasted Memories

It wasn't that well lighted in the bar, which was ok with Penny, as she the bags under her eyes would be less visible. She had ordered a drink, but she hadn't touched the beer or the vodka chasers. Her mind wasn't on drinking. She wished it could be, it would solve a lot of problems, at least for a while. She was reminded that her last name was ( Read more... )

Somehow he always seemed to end up at the bar once a day, and never in a good mood. Today, despite his talk with Izzie, Jack's mood was the standard- frustrated, confused, and grouchy. As he went into the general bar area he took off his wrist-comp and glared at it. If he was going to take the thing apart, and he was, then he needed some kind of too-sweet fizzy drink to go with that. His room had the fixings for coffee and tea, but for soda he needed to come here.

Nothing stroger than soda- not since his talk with the Doctor. He couldn't afford it, even cut off as he was. Noticing the smoking woman at the bar he came to sit next to her.

"Smoking's gonna kill you, you know." Irony was oh-so-enjoyable.

She looked up at him with large brown eyes. "Yeah, probably, but I only smoke when I need one." She said taking one more drag before putting it out in the ashtray. "Though it looks like that's going to be the only way any of us are going to get out of here. If we up and die, that is. By the way I'm Penny Posin, or basically I'm just poison so you may want to keep your distance."

Jack raised an eyebrow, amused. "Jack Harkness, and I'm kinda hard to kill, so I'm looking into other ways of getting out." He indicated the wrist-computer, which he laid on the bar in front of him. If he could rig it or reprogram it to broadcast anything out...Well, maybe it'd speed things up.

"You're poison, are you?" He gave her a good long look, almost unnerving by its directness. "You look human enough, but I guess looks can be decieving."

"Yeah, well, absinthe and arsenic appear to be just normal liquids until you drink them." She took another swig of her beer. "You look like a clean-cut guy...although looks can be decieving you know..." She sighed a bit and stretched out a bit. "Remind me a bit of someone I knew...who thought they knew me...I just wrenched out their heart and jumped on it." She turned back to the beer in her hands. "Not that I did it on purpose...my mom...no, my mom's not an excuse...but she's the reason I am the way I am."
