The Doctor Checks In... (Entrance Post)

May 16, 2007 14:08

Except for the occasional chirp of the cicadas, all was quiet in the desert.  The twilight sun cast long shadows behind the few Joshua trees that scattered across the horizon.  The smell of crabgrass and dust lingered on the slight breeze.  The building, however, was absolutely silent.  No sound emerged from within it, no flash of movement through ( Read more... )

The Doctor, fifth one to be exact, poked his head around the door to the lobby. Of course he wasn't going to the bar whyever would you suggest that? He had better things to do than sit and get drunk and wallow over the fact he was still yet to find a way out of here. Much better things to do. Yes...things like...ohhh alright, yes fine. He was headed to the bar to get drunk. Happy now? We're glad.

He'd always had a knack for recognising his future incarnations, well it was still him after all. He stepped into the lobby because quite frankly, being the first alcoholic Timelord wasn't overly appealing so all distractions were welcome. "So which one are you then?" A slow smile on his face as he placed his hands in his pockets and made his way to the new arrival. "Hello, Doctor."

The Doctor whipped his head around at the voice. It had been a long time since he'd used it, but it was still recognizable and very welcome.

"Doctor!" the Doctor echoed with a joyful smile. He quickly strode up to his younger incarnation, grasped him by the shoulders and planted a firm kiss on the other's mouth. "By Rassilon, I haven't been you in ages! What am I- I mean, what are you doing here? Where are we? This place is very interesting, wherever we are."

All the colour drained from the younger Doctor's face as he was kissed and were he able too...well he'd be visibly flailing. As it was the moment he oppened his mouth words failed him. "I...uhh...well...I-I-I....ummm heh...I just...well...it-it was a bit of an accident." He took a few steps backward and ran a hand through his hair. "I...well...I just...I was meant to be going to watch England win the Ashes...I-I..." he took the opportunity to...well frankly shut up.

The elder Doctor just smiled knowingly (and a bit cheekily). He hadn't meant to cause the poor fellow any undue consternation... but really, it was quite amusing to watch him stutter.

"So you were drawn off course as well?" he asked. "I was headed for Barcelona myself. The city, not the planet. Do you know, though, that's rather odd." The Doctor's voice grew more serious. "One of us landing here on accident is par for the course, you know how temperamental the Old Girl can be. But both of us being here, at the same time, when we both wanted to be somewhere else..."
