A friend of mine found a very interesting article on wikipedia about sexual orientation in military service. the u.s. government- self proclaimed 'greatest country' - promotes hate and prejudice and fear and ignorance- by continuing to associate sexual orientation to a person's ability or inability to perform duties/tasks/jobs...all of those countries listed that have non-discrimating policies- their armies are not falling apart- straight men aren't getting raped in the shower. performance isn't affected....the u.s.; by promoting fear and hiding- opens up their gay service people to be targets of manipulation and black mail_ because if their secret gets out then their career is over with- the u.s. risks more by encouraging it's service people to lie and keep secrets- because it makes the person willing to do anything to keep the secret ( ... )
