Okay, now that I've got that out of my system... of course Jack's not dead. He can't be. Because there's still a chapter 5 to come and you did mention a teeny-tiny spoiler that couldn't happen if Jack was dead... so there!

Loved this chapter! The reunion hug, Jack's stiff awkwardness that shows just a hint of jealousy and feeling out in the cold, the Doctor's jealousy while having to acknowledge that Jack had actually taken care of Rose. I like the way he decided not to be too hard on Jack in the end - and I love Jack going back into danger, risking his life to save the Doctor.

He'd become some sort of goddamned hero now. What happened to the days where he was simply concerned with his own health and well-being? It just didn't sit right to just let the man die when there was something he could do to stop it. Nor did he think he could live with seeing Rose every day and knowing he hadn't tried to rescue the man she loved.Poor Jack. But he was always a hero; he just ( ... )

But of course Jack is dead. The next chapter is probably just bringing the body back to his family or stuff. That spoiler was a dream sequence. *shakes head in disbelief at Wendy's denial when it says right on the page that Jack is as dead as several dodos*

I was all ready to leave a comment, and then I got to the end and noticed that when you posted you accidently left off part of the chapter between "...overpowering even the sound of the waterclimb." and your TBC.

P.S. I have not mentioned, but I love the waterclimbs.
