I'm thinking I should have gone into a bit more detail in my review, although brilliant pretty much summed it up.

I was actually taken back in time to the day the picture was taken, I could feel what Sirius and Cassie were feeling. I was actually sitting here smiling and a bit spellbound while you wove the day and the events that led up to the picture being taken.

My heart broke a little for Sirius when he handed the picture back to Moody then whispered his endearment to Cassie. You captured something that I always believed, that somewhere there was a woman who was important to Sirius.

It was very evocative.

I'm not so great at expressing myself in reviews. I just felt I had better come back and tell you that I really did feel what you were trying to convey. You really did a lovely job of getting their emotions across and the happiness and hope of everyone in the room that day.

You, seriously just made my day. That's exactly what I wanted to convey, exactly how I wanted it to work. This is only my second foray into Sirius/Dorcas in fic, though I have played her in RPGs.

It's an expansion almost from my series of drabbles also posted here: Carry On, Wayward Son, specifically number 13. If you liked this, I might suggest (a bit vainly) that you might like that one as well.

But, I really feel that Sirius did love someone, sometime, but I also wanted to touch on humour and I'm glad that you got the fact that the 'I hate you/I hate you too' was an endearment for them.
