Light snow, with chance of introspection.

It's snowing on Shell Beach. The flakes are soft and fat and form a soft layer of white on the sand. It probably won't be enough to build snowmen, but a few children are out, scraping up snowballs and catching snowflakes on their tongue ( Read more... )

Sandy snowballs! Schreber never sleeps completely well so he knows she didn't. He makes tea and comes to join her in the sunroom. It's so pretty and quiet but a little grey and everything feels lazy. He can't focus on paperwork today.
"Is there room for two?" He has tea in his hands and isn't carrying a book or anything. He just wants to sit with her.

Sarah looks away from the mesmerizing snowflakes, then smiles warmly. "Of course." She scoots over so that he can sit next to her. "It's so pretty out, isn't it?"

"It is. It's like... snow puts the world on pause." He sits down beside her and puts his free arm around her shoulders. Snow outside means cuddling time.

Sarah sets aside her coffee, then readjusts her blanket so that it covers them both. Her hands are warm from holding the mug. "Yes. Maybe John needed a little nap today." She laughs softly at the idea.
