Christmas Morning ((Really!))

When Schreber wakes up on Christmas morning he tries not to wake Sarah, but eases out of bed and goes to make tea. Maybe he can manage muffins from a box or something? Also there is always eggs. Waking people with breakfast seems like a good idea.

Thorn has already risen, and is in his customary spot on the back porch with a holiday cigarette. Only by necessity has he cut back on smoking, as he is reluctant to wander the neighbourhood looking for a newsstand to buy more from. Christmas is a special occasion, and he's indulging the vice. The noises from the kitchen do not give him much cause to stir, just yet.
Three new packages are under the tree, done up in scraps of wrapping paper.

Sarah is having a weird dream about being asked to guide Santa's sleigh. She happens to be a swan, with a glowing red nose. Maybe she should have laid off the eggnog the night before...

It's not breakfast that wakes her up, but a leafy hand poking her shoulder. "Bell?" her bellsprout asks. Looks like even pokemon have Christmas.

Sarah freshens up and joins Daniel in the kitchen, dressed in fleece and denim. "Merry Christmas," she beams.

He has tea ready and eggs and is peering impatiently in the oven for the muffins. He keeps checking every two minutes and they won't bake fast enough! He's afraid the rest of the food will get cold. "Oh! Good morning!" He gives her a hug and a kiss and a kind of sheepish look because the mess of mixing up the muffin batter is across the counter.

"Oh, you're making breakfast!" She looks pleased. Who cares about the mess? "And muffins, even. I'm impressed." She gives him a teasing squeeze. "Although if you check the oven too often, it messes with the temperature and the muffins won't rise as well."

Belle peeks her head into the kitchen to check on her mistress and Daniel, before heading to the porch door. "Bell!" she greets Thorn, stepping outside. She already knew he was out there because of the smoke.
