1. Sometime after Galaxia's defeat, Jadeite was freed from his crystal prison by Hotaru.
2. Jadeite has a few small businesses on the side that continued during his absence, largely because they weren't energy-gathering operations. He is now a wealthy man.
3. Jadeite gave up on villainy out of spite. And greed. But mostly spite.
