Chien didn't like the blond surfer boy from the start. He was too quiet, too sad (How could anyone be sad under Asmodai's wing?), too... submissive. What in hell made him think he was worthy of serving Asmodai?

Rafe didn't like the Asian kid from the start. He was too hostile, too angry, too eager to serve that bastard sorcerer. How could anyone be happy working for Asmodai? What did he have on the kid?
