Pernatar meme!

This is mostly for folk familiar with both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Dragonriders of Pern. If you don't know much about the Pern saga, I'd recommend you hold off on requesting things; if you don't want to hold off, I've buried some basic facts below the cut.

Ozaith can still surprise his rider

H'koda does not appreciate it when Ozaith takes it into his head to wander off while he's sleeping. The last time the bronze had done so, he had returned with an entire crate of good Benden wine. The Masterharper at least had been understanding, but Ozaith still doesn't understand what was wrong about what he had done.

At least that's what H'koda tells the Weyrleader. It sounds better than 'he ignores me when I explain it.'

This time, however...

H'koda eyes the two girls curled up against each other, covered by an almost-protective bronze wing, then eyes his dragon. "Ozaith...," he says warningly.

They were willing, Ozaith replies, regarding his rider with one whirling eye green in content.

"That is not the point!" H'koda knows his dragon, knows that willingness is not generally an issue with him. Argh, P'yandao never has this trouble with Fath.

Almost gently, Ozaith's tail comes up and pushes H'koda down. Song asked me, he informs the human, and H'koda pauses

It sounds better than 'he ignores me when I explain it.' And thus would be the issue with Ozaith. That is a dragon with a mind of his own. :D

Yeah, H'koda. Oh. It is like that. *pats him* Use some of that endless patience you must have stored up from dealing with Ozaith.

I really love the image of the girls curled up together and Ozaith being all protective with his wing over them. It's very sweet.
