Pernatar meme!

This is mostly for folk familiar with both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Dragonriders of Pern. If you don't know much about the Pern saga, I'd recommend you hold off on requesting things; if you don't want to hold off, I've buried some basic facts below the cut.

I like this. I like S'okka's plans, and Katara's "well, maaaaaybe", and S'okka's recruitment of awesome people, and they are going to the Southern Continent! I love the Southern Continent. It has wormies that eat Thread and buried spaceships and dolphins!

I want to hear more about S'okka's plan. Like where Kr'suk fits in. Or how their little weyr works out. Also, P'akku is in the South! Why is P'akku in the South? Thought he was a High Reaches rider. (Also, moar P'akku and Iroth, pleases.)

Why is P'akku in the South?

T'kul was dead, killed in a duel with F'lar after he'd overflown his dragon. The Weyrleader had decided it was time to change the political structure of Pern once more, and had sent P'akku to take charge of the Southern Weyr. The Continent would be thrown open to those who could Hold it, but only the dragonriders knew of F'lar's true intention for the Southern Continent.

P'akku was not sure he agreed with F'lar's plans, but the Weyr was in the most appalling state. There had been a tricky moment where Mardra had declared herself Weyrleader, until P'akku had icily informed her that only those who flew Thread could be considered such, and the Southern riders hadn't so much as stirred during a Fall for several years now. That was utterly unacceptable, and would be the first change P'akku made.

Too, H'koda's son had been expressing interest in some of the lands along Southern's east coast. He'd be wanting to keep an eye on the lad.
