Game Worth Checking Out

There's a new adventure game for the PC out, which pits Sherlock Holmes against creatures from the Cthulhu mythos! And it's getting some really good reviews! I'll definitely pick this one up.

Have you read Gaiman's short story "A Study in Emerald"? It's a similar premise, and was quite good. I don't say this as a Gaiman fan either; it's in Fragile Things, which I was disappointed with on the whole.

Agreed and agreed, although on the whole I remain a Gaiman fan.

Well, yeah. By and large his stuff is good. But Fragile Things just wasn't, even considered separately from the rest of his body of work. If I'm looking to read some comfortable, good short fiction, I go back to Smoke and Mirrors.

There's also a series of books with a Holmes like detective versus Cthulhu mythos... the Titus Crowe series.

Any thoughts on the PS2 title "Rule of Rose?"

I heard generally good things about it being a very well-written horror game.
