Quitting LJ

Hey folks, I'm quitting LiveJournal.

The reason is simple: very few people update here anymore. Those who do: I love you but it doesn't outweigh the cost of having another profile/blog/etc to maintain. Sorry.

Heh. Different worlds, I guess. I have trouble keeping up, and I'm unemployed.

Basically, my fandom-and-gaming friends are all still here, but everyone else has left. My FL is (or I guess was) diverse enough that that means I'm down to about 25% of what I once had here in terms of active posting friends.

Ditto. My LJ people are still pretty active, and I haven't even added or changed that many of them. Sometimes I actually have trouble keeping up - I can get 30 to 50 posts in a day.

Sorry to see you go, Darius, because I won't be able to keep up with you elsewhere (though I do read your Twitter).

It has been awhile since you posted. Last one I remember your musing on how your own career and works had outpaced the work you consume in terms of your interest level.

It sounds fulfilling... And I'd be lying if to pretend I don't covet that kind of fulfillment.

That was only a few weeks ago. Time goes quicker with age.

Out of curiousity is any thing or group of things precipitating a sort of spring cleaning and accounting of priorities?

Well I tip my hat to you sir on your travels and transitions. Even if I'm further removed from videogames as a consumer these days.

If there IS a story with said changes I'd love to hear it. Maybe coffee or beer sometime if you'd like?

Well yes! I'm sort of shutting down my business (Jeff is leaving and I'm turning it into a consulting label, no more office and stuff). And I'm spending this month in Orlando teaching. More here:
