I just saw a report in TV Patrol yesterday, that more and more Filipinos are using credit cards now. Something about not being to make ends meet. Scary

It doesn't even matter now whether you're in University or not. Now it's as long as you turned 18 and got a job doesn't even matter if it's part-time. I saw this survey on CTV news Canada that students here today are actually more responsible in handling their credit card than people with full-time income. It was around last fall, one of those street surveys.
If you want air miles I suggest you get the HSBC Mabuhay Miles card. A friend is satisfied with the Mabuhay Miles credit card he have, Php45 = 1 mile plus the accumulated miles expires after 3 years. That's what he said. What I don't like about HSBC (I have the Red Mastercard) is the points expire annually.
As for Citibank, they have so many charges. The only reason I'm keeping my Citibank card is for the reward points but I hardly use it. Citibank customer service/call center are annoying. They'll call you almost every week offering manager's check and other stuff.
I use BPI Mastercard mostly because of less interest rate (although it doesn't really affect because I pay on time) and I can pay easily online. BPI has a card like Mabuhay Miles, the WorldPerks Mastercard I think.
I suggest you get the HSBC Mabuhay Miles card or a BPI credit card. They are the better ones. :)
You can get some love with the BPI credit cards. But you can get MORE love if you have an account with them because of the automatic debit service. The banks website is also very user friendly.

Since it's gold or platinum.
Citibank also sends bills by email to reduce paper waste. But this is just an option.
I find it useful also that they tell me if my payment has been posted and how much is my available credit balance. through text or email.
One time, they also retracted my late charge after much pa-tweetums. :)
Rebates will only be given for Php 10,000 and up transactions. Only 2-3%
