Water wish

.

We've all been warned of water shortage in Metro Manila. Apparently there isn't enough water in Angat Dam to supply us in the next few months. And almost 3 million people will be severely affected, according to abs-cbn news. This morning, I heard in DZMM that there have been reported riots and fighting in water stations. Crazy. We all need ( Read more... )

I live in downtown Paranaque. (district 1) We don't have any water problems at all. We are using NAWASA (Maynilad)

Old towns such as ours have pipes laid down since the 1800s. Newly installed pipes in the subdivisions have problems... Yesterday, I saw 6 broken pipes around bf homes yesterday, those things affect water distribution plus your area is above sea level.

We still have la mesa water shed as our water source w/c is where MWSS gets their water. MWSS and MAYNILA should help each other.

The Story of Bottled Water anonymous July 23 2010, 03:57:16 UTC
I watched this video by former Greenpeace activist Annie Leonard on how the bottled water industry spends billions of dollars discouraging us from drinking tap water by saying it's not clean or pure.

Ms. Daphne, I do not know if my comment will be fair to Maynilad but Manila Water has better service. Ever since they acquired a portion of the water services, they have not stopped improving, rehabilitating, repairing, changing. Sure their pipe laying and water works causes a lot of bottlenecks and traffic build up, but the proof is in the pudding. We live in a regular neighborhood, medyo masa pa nga (C,D,E crowd), but we have strong water pressure 24/7 because of Manila Water. They try as much as possible to repair the leaks and update the pipes so water will not be wasted. I heard from Karen Davila on the radio that out of the 100% water that Maynilad produces, 51% gets wasted due to leaks. Sayang ang water. Nakaiyak ( ... )

This gave me chills Ms D. Before when our place (Cagayan de Oro), primarily whole of Mindanao suffered cutting-off of energy on the first quarter of year, I thought it's very convenient and exhausting. But having no water makes me go crazy. I'd rather choose having no electricity than h2o. Water is indeed Life and Precious. I thank God that our place is very abundant of water but still, we are oblige to save it for the future.

I am praying for my fellow Filipinos. And I'm crossing my fingers to that if typhoon will come, I hope it will hit Anggat Dam directly.

Save. Recycle. Discipline and Pray.
