I am an employee who wants to take more part not just in our own CSR program but extend it outside work, such as educating others around me. I hope id win because id like to take my dad with me who still believes that burning leaves, paper or trash wont hurt kasi konti lang naman ( its not konti if you do it on a weekly basis and your neighbors follow suite) and hits print like we dont need to preserve trees. And he hasnt watched the documentary Al Gore made so maybe seeing him
talk about it live would make more than just an impression.

for my kids mommylyn April 15 2010, 04:57:21 UTC
i am a mother of 2 very young kids. an employee.

i think its a good move for Al Gore to visit the philippines to talk about his advocacy on Climate change - because i think the government is not doing anything about it (Thank you too Henry sy - can you run for president?)! i am amazed by how he still pursues this battle, after so all these years. ever since i watched his An Inconvenient Truth video, he had my respect.

i am very eager to meet people/organization from the Philippines who advocate on how to go green, recycle, conserve, save mother earth...anything to make this earth a better place for my kids and grandchilren, etc.

my dilema, i want to go green, recycle, conserve, you name it, but its so hard. there are a lot US-based sites that gives us tips on how to do these, but most does not apply on how we live in the philippines.

i want to hear and know ways on how i can do this from people who actually do it.

so excited!

I was one of the casualties when Ondoy hit Manila, where a month's worth of rain fell in a span of 6 hours...

I was renting an apartment in Katipunan when Ondoy hit Manila. Raging floodwater went inside my apartment at 8 in the morning, in less than 10 mins the water was already waist-high inside my apartment! All that I've invested went down the drain. My work equipment, w/c was mainly electronic-based got ruined and now I'm back to zero...I'm a multi-media practitioner, working manly as a photographer but not limited to it.. I'm also a cinematographer and video editor. The only thing that I got to save was my computer and hard drive that contained my thesis film:

I will be showing this film on May 11, here in Paranaque..... during the 430th founding anniversary of the Parish of Saint Andrew. The full feature docu-film is about Paranaque, my home, and my frustrations about Paranaque. Ang hindi alam ng ( ... )

Why i want to meet Al Gore lezpardo April 15 2010, 06:02:18 UTC
Hi! I'm Leslie Pardo, a registered architect here in Manila. I would like the opportunity to meet Al Gore and listen in his talk re: climate change and global warming. Its a condition that I believe as architects we have to be able to address. Being young in this field I want to be able to work to help make that difference. And through Al Gore's work, we are given the information we need to learn more about this issue and in turn helps us find the solution to creating green and sustainable buildings and communities. That's all. I hope you'll consider me. Thanks! :) I enjoy reading your entries. I'm not really a live journal user but more of blogger but this is also useful. Thanks and keep up the great entries. :)
