As a current student in Parsons, I cant wait to always go back to Vancouver. I was so envious of my friends and family who experienced the olympic madness back home. That is why over the long weekend, I flew to Toronto to meet my cousins. Even though I'm on the other coast, It was good to be back in Canadian soil and experience the pride of canadians during this past two weeks. I never really longed for Canada, until I'm away. Now, everytime I'm in Vancouver, I always cherish every second of it. :) yey Canada!!!

I don't find it pretentious at all. It's a sentiment many Americans and Canadians share because of their families immigrant history. Fortunately, there are now more ways to connect to second homes, such as your lovely blog.
To your delight, the Tom Brokaw piece was broadcasted right before the opening ceremony, so I bet many people saw it.
