I originally intended this chapter contain all of the adventures in Lothering, but I found that having it as more of an introduction was better (and shorter). There should be more actual action in the next chapter, and Leliana!

I am so addicted to this series. I'm finding your non-Grey Warden Cousland fascinating. LOVE, LOVE that she's not some morally correct, Disney-esque heroine. She's very practical and intelligent; she's got depth, and I find myself wondering what she'll do next.

Also love Alistair, the reluctant leader. I think you've nailed him, characterization wise.

Thank you! Having to deal with her family's death without Duncan's intervention has made her harsher and more concerned with survival. In the regular DA universe, she's a lot more like Alistair; a reluctant leader trying to do the right thing, but stumbling along the way.

Alistair is way fun to write for! It's great to balance out his potential, reluctance and humor.
