Ooh, interesting concept! So does Cousland never become a Warden because Alistair has no idea how to do the Joining?

Thanks! I'm thinking that's pretty much what would go down. The one intended to be the Warden died, and there's really no way for Alistair to do the Joining on his own.

That does make me wonder if it would happen if he still were able to rescue Riordan. Something to keep in mind... :)

Not really. I'm hoping that Dog survived and will catch up later, a bit like how it works with the other Origins. We'll have to see.

Oh, I like this quite a bit. Very interesting. I really hope you continue. A Cousland who isn't a Warden opens up all sorts of interesting story possibilities.

Thank you! The idea has sort of taken me so I'm definitely continuing. :) I also would like to see what the story would be like with Alistair in more of a leadership role. The upcoming DLC mentions him as Warden King. How he could get there is really interesting.
