Look at me! Posting!

Wanted to let y'all know that I do indeed read your journals on at least a weekly basis, even if I rarely comment.

Question, for those of you with the energy to answer:

What would you do if you found out that someone you knew was into something definitely odd and often more than a bit kinky?

Hrmm... well, I look at it this way. Some of the thinks I like to do are probably considered odd by others, even though I find them fun and completely 'normal' for me (although I can recognize that not everyone might think that way). When you say "more than a bit kinky" I'm going to guess this pertains to something sexual, although what I'm saying could easily apply to non-sexual stuff as well ( ... )

Yeah, I get what you're saying.

You'd think that people who were involved with Realms and the offshoots of same (whether the offshoots make sense or not) -- D&D or other tabletop roleplaying, SF&F, comic books) would be among the first to be able to understand that sometimes we (the general "we") are drawn to things that are "different." Or non-mainstream, or whatever you want to call it.

'cause what I consider "odd" usually borders on "disurbing" and "frightening" or "very illegal"

and even then, it's their life. You obviously don't have to make it part of your life, if you don't want to, and still be friends.

I might ask questions about it, 'cause I tend to be the currious sort. But my usual reaction is "that's cool."

But it depends. I have found out so many things about so many people, very little shocks me any more.

Okay... so list some things that would fall under each of the categories of "disturbing" and "frightening" and "very illegal."

(Is there such a thing as VERY illegal? As opposed to just regular illegal, I mean?)

To me, off the cuff, some things that fall under all of those categories are: rape, pedophilia (true pedophilia, an adult having sex with a CHILD; not necessarily -- although sometimes -- an adult having sex with, say, a 16 year old), necrophilia, um... okay, I'm running out of ideas. And these are all sex-related. Hmm. Wonder where my mind is at?

Okies, I'm with you there. I mean, the autoeroticasphyxsiation (sp?) thing is on the line for me -- I'm not interested in it personally, but I can understand why some people would be and as long as they were careful, more power to 'em, you know? There's taking risks and then there's reckless life-threatening behavior.

Um, wild animals what? Like, having sex with wild animals? Or just playing with them? If the former, ew. If the latter, again we're talking a line as far as risk-taking goes. I wouldn't do it myself, but some people are thrill-seekers. Well, probably most people are thrill-seekers, but everyone has a different level of thrill.

Eating people is just sick. Seriously. Ewwwww. LOL! If it grosses me out, you can almost be assured that I will also laugh at it. I've got some serious issues with finding The Funny in morbid situations, and I don't mean that in a good way. Yes. I don't think I want to be friends with people who eat other people's body parts, even with permission.

And I'm with you on the drugs thing.
