Dear everyone whose immediate response to "I miss my girlfriend" is "Well at least you have someone!":

Shut up and go away. This is my self-pity party, not yours. You can throw yours later. I'll even bake you a cake.

posting this here because i would never say it in real life, not because it is directed at any of you lovelies

what i'm writing these days, angst (shh i am never sad), zephyrocity's fault

omfg i hate that. I HATE IT I HATE IT. and not even just about relationships. i have a friend who, whenever i complain about my job a little, her immediate response is "Well, at least you have one!"

ffff what am I supposed to say? I AM TRYING TO COMPLAIN HERE. MAKE SYMPATHETIC NOISES AND WRITE A PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE ENTRY ON YOUR JOURNAL LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

No, joking aside, it's really rude when people do that. There's a female culture based on exchange of complaints, and that response just shorts it out and it's rude and shocking. :|

Yeah, exactly. It's an attempt to make me appreciate what I have, but in a completely useless and selfish way. Because inevitably what happens is I start sympathizing with their loneliness, and we talk forever and I comfort them, and then my loneliness is still right there and still as acute, and it's just. Blaaah.
