Day 07: A photo that makes you happy
This is my very best friend (although she and Liam waver on that title) Tappy, on our class field trip in Maine last September. My dear friend Tay took the picture, and it just. It makes me happy in a longing sort of way, because that was one of the best weeks of my life, and I lover both tappy and Tay so, so much. Also, this picture is beautiful.
Day 08: A picture that makes you angry/sad
Not much makes me angry. Sad, maybe, but it takes a lot to get me angry. I think I'll take a page out of
forbiddenromanc 's book and go with something like this:
Because holy shit does that make me angry. And holy shit does that make me sad.
Because I honestly and seriously cannot understand these people.
I pride myself on being able to walk in another's shoes. I think it's something that improv teaches, I think it's something that writing teaches, I think that it's one of the most important skills in the world. But not only can I not think how they think, I wouldn't touch their shoes with a ten-foot pole.
Not only do I not understand how they can believe that love, any love, is wrong; I can't understand how they can believe in a deity who would hate one of His children for no other reason than what that child found arousing. I don't believe in God, not as God, anyway (magic/balance/soul/spirit/energy? Maaaybe.) but if I did, it would not be a God that could hate. God is light and God is love, isn't that what they say? So what the fuck is God doing hating on faggots? Whatever that word even means, these days. First lazy soldiers, then women, then Jews, it's the English insult whore. And it still means cigarettes (which I would be much more okay with God hating. I mean, that would at least have a reason: they cause cancer. Although I'm sure homophobes have tried to claim the same of queers).
To go off on a tangent slightly, I read something recently about how gay marriage was once not only condoned but actually performed by the Catholic church. For the life of me, I can't find it. Can anyone help me out?
