let me know how it is. i'm on a history kick. i'm 11 lectures into david blight's civil war course. he's a dynamic speaker. i might do african american history next. i have a bit of an inferiority complex about my knowledge of history.

great stuff Dan! I'll have to check out your show when I'm back in town after the 4th. did you end up moving to loft- land or bell a vista? I ended up down by pat's & geno's-ish. I am going to start keeping an office in a studio building (actually same bldg as vox populi), not that that is very far north but I'm glad it will take me across town a little. let's hang out!

yes, let's definitely make it happen. as far as moving, me and my GF are trying to decide about that now. i just got laid off (ugh), but her career future is looking bright at the moment. not sure where we'll end up yet... fishtown? sotuh philly? that weird chinatown-ish limbo where vox/your office is? there's even talk of brooklyn again...

we'll probably have a party at my current place at some point too. me and my current roommate have known each other for 30 years as of 2010, so we're thinking of billing it as a "dan and gabe's 30th anniversay" party. expect an amusing invite.

Hey -- great post. So glad you're back. I did not know about Academic Earth, but then there was a teacher of my mine giving one of the top lectures. (You know, right? that I podcasted my Shakespeare lectures last term?) And I really like the paintings.

Of course it'd be you to give the first good reason to check out Breaking Bad aside from the presence of Bob Odenkirk.

The paintings are amazing!

he is seriously the best character in the show, but he would fall really flat if he didn't have the rest of the amazing cast to play off of.

i watched all three seasons of that show in less than a month, and i hardly watch television shows anymore.

yeah, he's one of my favorites. the scene where walt and skylar are in his waiting room was LOL-able. i also love that he's not actually jewish - that was another one of my favorite jokes from it.

this show is just a quick group thing. i'm one of 32 people in it. but the gallery i've been working with more closely may set up some web sale thing soon. i'll let you know...

bob odenkirk is one of SEVERAL amazing bit players on that show (though a few of them - not only him but also the amazing giancarlo esposito - are becoming major characters). i think BB got lumped in with all those "normal person who's also secretly ___" type shows (which, admittedly, it is). suffice to say i think it's a cut above weeds, dexter, big love and nurse jackie, all of which are ok-but-not-great, imo. and like i said above, it comes alive in the second season.
