Throughout my Youth, I was one of those people who could not just get up in the morning. Forty-five minutes of snooze, at the very least, every morning. Ten a.m. on the weekends, earliest. I got into the habit of getting up at 6am for an internship at my mother's work last summer, and when I returned to university I just couldn't get up any later than 9am and not feel like crap. But slowly... slowly... I began sleeping in thirty minutes more... than an hour more... then two hours more... and now getting up any time before eleven is death for me. I WISH I could get up at 9am, like I usually did. Not only do I feel better, less groggy, etc, but I also don't have to worry about having wasted the day. That is a terrible feeling, especially when its beautiful out.

You're far from being the only one. With me it was just terrible. It caused me many problems.

Is it age?

Definitely.

Maybe I'm just slightly more responsible.

No, it doesn't have anything to do with being responsible. It's just age, believe me. It happens with everybody who is a heavy sleeper early on. As you get older it becomes easier for you to get up. I'll be damned if I know why. It's the way it is and that's that.
