Utterly utterly worth it. A multicooker even more so. Can do rice but can also do slowcooker stuff.

While I was in portland, we made two whole chicken dishes in Lars's multicooker. SO DELICIOUS BOTH OF THEM. Terribly moist and nummy and yes yes very very good.

Pork roast! Studded with garlic and rubbed with rosemary and sage and with an apricot glaze.

Or stuffed pork chops. Get the big thick ones, slice them on the side and make a pocket, a big one. I like to stuff them with, y'know, stuffing, but you can stuff them with whatever.

...man I love pork.

Curry!

Fish! omg I made really tasty fish the other day while experimenting. It was just tilapia fillets sprinkled with curry powder and bay leaves and with some grated ginger on top, cooked in water/lemon juice in a pan. Served on rice. Ver tasty!

You could make rice pilaf, or homemade tortillas, or flan, or cornbread (mmmm cornbread), let's see. What else do I like to make.

Stroganoff, chicken paprika, experiment with chicken and make tasty random sauces (I was thinking of trying to create a lemon-ginger sauce, asian style).

Anything from smittenkitchen.com, but one of my favorites is the balsamic braised brussel sprouts, also the chick pea curry is delicious.

I should actually do some proper cooking too, I have supplies, I just need ideas.

I'm so glad you're feeling better.

I'm a dessert girl myself, so:

BEST WHITE CAKE EVAR.
*2 3/4 cups sifted cake flour
*4 teaspoons baking powder
* 3/4 teaspoon salt
* 4 egg whites
* 1 1/2 cups white sugar
* 3/4 cup butter
* 1 1/2 cup milk
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 teaspoon almond extract

1. Sift flower, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl
2. Cream butter and 1 cup of the sugar together in a large bowl, slowly add dry ingredients and milk.
3. in a mixing bowl, beat eggs until foamy and then add 1/2 cup sugar; use a mixer to beat until you've got meringue with soft peaks. Eat a spoonful if you must, I always do.
4. Fold meringue into the batter just until combined.

Bake in two well greased round pans on like. 350 for 15-20 minutes (just until brown on top) then ice with whatever. SO GOOD.

And if you want more desserts I also have an awesomesauce sugarcookie recipe.
