I actually have one. It's my mom's old pet rock. One of it's tricks is that it knows how to become a primitive hammer.

Well, looks like Ger voted for rats, and having had one before I can say it's not a terrible idea! May even do okay with the cat under supervision, and in my experience... kitty learned pretty quick not to stick a toe in the cage ( ... )

RAT!!!! A thousand times rat! Especially if you can get one that is still really young. OMG they are the BEST PETS EVER. Trust me on this. I absolutely loved the rat I had when I was a teen. Her name was Audrey (named after the part I played in the school's production of Little Shop of Horrors) and I called her Odd-ball, lol. SHE WAS SO ADORABLE OMG. My only advice is to get a female... don't worry, you won't have any trouble telling the difference O_o.

Hermie crabs are cute too. :D I got one for each of my kids a few years ago. My now-seven year old (she was only four then) was scared crapless of them though. They came to an unfortunate end when one of the kids left them out and they got lost. At least... I *think* they came to an end... who knows, maybe they're still lurking in the dark corners somewhere. D:

Nothing wrong with a uterus that wants babies! :D But babies and pets can live in harmony if they ever happen to coincide. It just involves a lot of cleaning of poop, that's all. ;)

I really think Brassy's right. Find out WHY you want something before you actually get it. I still think you just want a little Gerry running around. And if you name him Gerry, I *will* smack you. AND your hubby. ;)
