My trip to NY and Canada

Dec 27, 2012 00:58

Hi dear readers. Please bear with me, and the fact that this is a very picture/image heavy blog post. Please enjoy it, and if you can, please leave a reply so I know you were here, and that I had some readership after all the love im putting in this post =D

Please know that all pics are reduced to 300 px, but if you click on them, you can get a larger imag ^^

Now, please take some complimentary coffee or hot cocoa from the counter and some candybars if you want, and please go ahead and come with me, as we travel to NY, Canada and back to NY and finally home to south Florida. Dont read this in a rush, as you may miss little fun bits and pieces, pokepuns, and other things. If you need more than one sitting to read this, just remember, the snacks will NOT run out at any point ;)

Now let's begin

It was December 25th 2012 at 11 AM when a 27 year old pokemon fan and two other relatives boarded a flight in sunny Fort Lauderdale in the US state of Florida. The destination was New York. After a successful flight, thanks God, our took us to the JFK airport, where this view received them

After leaving the airport, after the car rental nearly ditched us, we were Blessed with a nice SUV (photos coming soon), we started heading to Canada

We spent several hours in the road, and rather than staying at Rochester, we ended up pushing up all the way to Bouffalant (Buffalo) instead

First sight of snow at Bouffalant, NY

Day 2 (December 26th) Bouffalant, NY, Niagara Falls NY, Niagara Falls, Canada, Toronto Canada, Niagara Falls, Canada

We started the day with a little snow at the hotel parking lot. Not bad, we came for snow too =3 (at least I did =P )

We went for breakfast to Tim Horton´s, a place similar to Dunkin' Donuts. I had a donut, an apple fritter and a buffalo chicken panini (the sauce wasnt half bad, but the red onion really gave it THE kick xD ) Then we took of to Canada. A short trip, and here are some shots. I apologize to anybody who lives in Niagara Falls, NY, but the place is pretty depressing (at least where we went, around the goodyear factory)

Rainbow Bridge signs to Canada

As we approached the border, this was the view

At the border. Arrêt

Our next destination was the falls

All the Ice

Niagara Falls, Ontario

We left N.F. to Toronto by riding the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way). Passed by several places including Mississauga (where I know a member fro pkmncollectors ives at =P (I hope you are reading and raise your hand, that would be super cool =D )

And this Walmart supercenTRE. Interestingly, I didnt know that they call the restrooms as washrooms. Sounds actually cool im ^__^

Our next stop was Toronto, where we wasted no time (as we didn't have as much xD ) and went straight to the Rogers Centre and CN Tower

I gotta say, Toronto has a pretty impressive skyline!! =D

Getting closer to CN Tower. Tons of construction going on in here xD Even cranes with colored lights around them =D

Rogers Centre

CN Tower Outside

The art around the tower is really nice.
My favorite tower, the Space Needle was shown here in a comparison of the CN to other towers
To set the record straight, I am EXTREMELY fond of Seattle!!

The impressive views from "La Tour CN". The last pic is Toronto's skyline

And here I introduce Brave, my pokemon travel buddy. He is an extremely friendly mini braviary plushie. He will pop up randomly through this series, but I'm with my family, so it may not be very often

Brave: Im in the top of the world!!
Me: Well, at least as high as you can get on a Toronto Winter (the top part of the tower was closed due to high winds)
Brave: Tall enough thoug ^___^

The Glass Floor / Le Plancher de Verre, offers very interesting views to the visitors.... If you focus enough, you can feel like you are walking on the air xD ... well not really, but its pretty cool regardless

After the tower, we were ready to return to Niagara Falls, however, it wasn't the fastest travel, thanks to this amazng surprise

Snowstorm!! =D and I LOVE snow =D

Well, due to the image heaviness of this post, Days 3 and 4 will be published as a new entry on day 4, as I am quite behind posting (too many pics and stories, too little hotel time xD )

I'll see you on the next post!!
