Yay! Congrats on your dissertation! I don't exactly know what "First" means, but it sounds awesome! Does that mean yours was the best?? I'm also grabbing the meme, I love talking about reading!!
I wish it was the best! Universities here have five degree classifications: a First, an Upper Second (or 2:1), a Lower Second (or 2:2), a Third, and a fail. Getting a First for my dissertation just means that it was in the top ranking. \o/
(Unfortunately the classifications I got for my other modules dragged me down, so I ended up ultimately getting a degree classification of 2:1, which is second best. BUT ANYWAY.)
Thanks for the congrats and I look forward to reading your meme! :D
Congratulations on the dissertation, that's magnificent! :D
Oh God, I still own that Curse of the Lost Idol book! It was so cool although I don't think I solved any of them! (I loved reading 'em, sucked at solving 'em!) And the Adventure Series are definietely the best Enid Blytons. DEFINIETELY.
I was so bad at the Puzzle Adventures - like, I could do the ones where you had to find a route for the characters across a canyon littered with hazards, but I found the others impossible - BUT I LOVED THEM ANYWAY. I used to reread them even when I'd memorised all the solutions, and I felt so pleased with myself for knowing the answers.
I actually bought one or two recently that I hadn't read before. I COULDN'T DO THOSE EITHER. Outwitted by a book aimed at ten-year-olds! I felt so embarrassed. D:

I'm at Nick's house, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. We drove to Philly today! I saw the Liberty Bell.
