bleach

i've finally gotten around to bleaching my white skirt after a mishap with a palsy-ridden ey in a wine bar in travestere. any tips? i'm basically bleaching the whole thing after soaking it in soapy water for a few hours. i think there are about two cups (or more) of generic bleach mixed with warm water in a plastic bucket containing my stained ( Read more... )

I bleached stuff yesterday and, as far as i can tell, the worst that can happen is that it won't bleach it and that means you have to go through a second round of bleaching. I heartily endorse bleach, but I think I didn't get the really strong stuff.

And if that fails, you might consider getting a big bottle of carlo rossi and staining the whole thing a rich, wine color. I did that to a shirt once, and it actually turned out nicely.

So long as it's a cotton skirt it should be okay. Bleach weakens other fabrics (and it horrible to spandex!) and makes them age faster.

haha, i'll try that if all else fails...
regarding durability: it is a white denim skirt. pretty hardy fabric, yes?

Yeah, I was thinking that too, you could always get some rit dye and dye it some other color. I dyed my white jeans hot pink because I am definitely not smooth enough to wear anything white and drink coffee or wine.
