So the end of December is upon us which mean the Month Of Love really is only about a month away. (YIkes!) I've been trying work on my contribution (Feb 2) and well, I've been having trouble focusing in on even the most basic details of what I want to write like when it is set or if it is a adventure or just a vignette looking into an established ( Read more... )

I also COMPLETELY forgot to mention Daniel/Sarah. Such a miserable loose end for the writers to leave hanging, especially when compared to Sha're & Vala as Goa'uld hosts.

I like Campy's view. Especially V telling D about abuse. And yikes!... I think V would go nuts if D confessed-admitted being with Adria. Omg. She'd probably kill him or run. Also Tomin's POV of recognizing- voicing (before he leaves after Vala stays ) the unspoken bond between D/V would be nice to explore. I too love reading how D/V admit their feelings and come together first time. So! I have no suggestions but look forward to whatever you do. ~b

Yep, Vala would have a strong reaction to how her daughter seduced/manipulated Daniel, even if Merlin had been taking control of Daniel's mind during those times.

If we consider the Unending time dilation as evidence that Daniel & Vala can sustain an intimate partnership for 50 years, the subject of Daniel/Orici had to have come up, right? As well as a slew of other subjects:
Jacek vs. (the late) Melburn as fathers-in-law
Claire vs. Vala's mom & stepmom
Losing Adria as a daughter, losing Shifu as a stepson
Amaunet taking Sha're, Qetesh taking Vala
Sha're vs Tomin as spouses

I mean, 50 YEARS. It couldn't've all been roller skating & the Asgard datacore!

Good ol' Tomin glimpsed how chummy Vala & Daniel were in the Ori ship corridor in Flesh & Blood, and no doubt saw how they worked together in Ark of Truth. So yeah, that's easy territory to traipse around in.

I firmly believe that the moment Tomin struck Vala he lost any chance of her ever considering him that way again. It's not that it was such an injury but it's the "I'll make you shut up" sentiment that Vala can't tolerate.

Oooooh, I love all of Campy's suggestions!

Trying to think of my own ideas, but I may be too enamored with hers to do that.

Let's see...I do always enjoy happy fluff. For when they're first getting together, I like some sort of realization or epiphany, especially on Daniel's part. A sort of clearing of the air. I'm also partial to fics dealing with post-Dominion angst.

But if you cook up something dealing with Daniel/Adria, that would rock. I would LOVE to see that!

Maybe this is nerdy of me, but I'm especially interested in the memory device they used on Vala in Dominion, and how it might've induced flashbacks to when she'd suffered amnesia in Memento Mori. And also how Daniel might've used mnemonic techniques to restore his memory in Season 7's Fallen & Homecoming, after Descending.

Now that the Daniel/Adria idea is out there, I want to see it too, I'm just not sure if I'm the one to do it justice given my slow writing habits and 1 month deadline.

While all those topics Campy has suggested could be interesting I think they would warrant a long story to do them justice....much longer than is typically posted for the Month of Love.
I vote for an adventure snippet that shows them relying on each other's strengths.
You've got Feb 2, you could do a "Groundhog Day" theme...it is cliche, but maybe you could find someway to twist it...maybe something like the WOO episode where the SGC is repeating the day, NOT Daniel or Vala.
